History
Falu Vapen Färg AB is a company in the group of companies owned by RÖA, established in 1926. The founders were five gentlemen with connections in the construction industry. Their business idea was to develop and manufacture products that would protect exterior wooden structures or, as they put it, "mota röta" (= ward off rot) – thereof the name RÖA. From the start we have been making paints for exterior structures at Hosjö, just outside Falun, Sweden. Today we are a leading manufacturer of the popular and genuine Swedish red paint "Falu Rödfärg". As early as the mid-thirties we began to develop paints for application on metal, which today constitutes our main trade, with clients found mostly in the industrial section. We run our business in partnership with RÖA AB.
Today
Development, production and sales are all run by ourselves. Our busines is quality controlled according to ISO 9001, environmentally conformed to ISO 14001, and third party certified. Our whole operation is guided by a desire to cause a minimum amount of pollution, hence we focus on developing water based systems. Our field of expertise is industrial paint on metal and paints for wooden exterior surfaces. If you want to know more, see business division "RÖA and Falu Vapen", respectively. We also conduct courses to further the skills in industrial surface treatment amongst our customers.These courses are a separate product and may be ordered here. We collaborate with Burcharths Farve och Lakfabrik in Denmark and Star Maling in Norway.
The future
Since the values and challenges of today may not be the same tomorrow, our strategy is to remain flexible and curious when facing the future. We want to collaborate even closer with our customers and contractors, take advantage of the knowledge they possess, while at the same time effectively share our own know-how. This form of cooperation is part of our effort to offer high quality surface treatment that is both economically and environmentally sound.
