Falu Vapen is the name for paints that breathe and allow the wood to live. You can feel safe, knowing that our paints allow moisture and air to seep through, which keeps the wood in good condition. Falu Vapen paints are very easy to work with, and are available in traditional Swedish colours. They are also available in the colours of your choice. A house painted with Falu Vapen can "live and breathe", and the risk for rot and mould is minimal – favourable for the house – and its residents. These paints are developed and manufactured in Falun, which has a long tradition in making the genuine Swedish Red, "Falu Rödfärg".
Falu Rödfärg
We have been making Falu Rödfärg since 1926. Our fully automated production plant guarantees an even and high quality in can after can. Falu Rödfärg is a mud paint, which, bound to tradition, is produced through a process of boiling and swelling with flour. We also deliver other Falu Rödfärg colours, see www.falurodfarg.se.
Falu Vapen – Fasadfärg
Falu Vapen has a unique product for facades. It is an emulsion paint that does not build up film thickness, and therefore allows the wood to breathe. Painting is made very easy – no oil or other primer needed, just paint once or twice for a full covering. When repainting, just brush down old paint and paint over. This paint will adhere to most surfaces, see further in "Directions for painting". The Falu-red colour is ideal to use when you want a traditional Swedish red house, but don't have the right conditions.
